From the time I first heard about Leadership Training Institute, I was really excited because I was wanting more training as a leader, a broader understanding of world views, and answers to some questions. LTI provided all of that and more. It was a real eye-opener for me. I realized how little I had actually known about the issues challenging America and the world. It would be hard to say what the best part of the week was because it was all terrific, but one thing really stuck with me above others. On one of the final nights of the week, we were reviewing all that we had learned, and Brother Pat made the statement, “You now have a big responsibility. To whom much is given, much is required.” I have not forgotten that, and it has been a “push from behind” many times when I’ve been tempted to go back. I was scared to go ahead because of the greater responsibilities awaiting me. But I couldn’t go back because of the responsibility I already had. All you can do then is step out on faith and trust God for the grace to meet each new challenge. He does give grace. He did it for me! As the week of LTI came to a close, I asked God to give me a ministry when I returned home. I wanted to serve in some way. The morning after we returned home, I received a phone call asking me to go and help as staff in a home for troubled girls for three months. Believing it was from God, I went. I just want to say that He was with me every step of the way. LTI gave me a fresh vision, as well as good basic principles, for serving God here and now. |
